AXSYS Capital’s head office is located in Libertyville, Illinois with property management teams situated throughout the Midwest. This allows us to be well educated on the area, properly assessing all properties before they are purchased, and leverage local day-to-day operating expertise once they become part of our portfolio.

David Meggs
Founder & CEO

David is responsible for AXSYS Capital’s overall investment strategy and focuses on acquisition sourcing, deal financing, investor relations, and ensuring strong management of the portfolio.

He has over two decades of real estate investment experience and has acquired over $75 million of commercial real estate in the Midwest. He’s adopted a conservative debt approach of putting larger down payments and focusing on cash-flowing properties with strong tenants in stable markets.  This approach has allowed him to achieve risk-adjusted returns that are favorable in today’s market.

David holds a Masters in International Business from Saint Louis University which is a Top 10 Business School in the country. Before leading AXSYS Capital, David was COO at Blommer Chocolate Company, North America’s largest chocolate manufacturer, generating $1 billion in annual sales.

Alan O'Brien
Co-Founder & COO

Alan is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Axsys Capital’s portfolio. He transfers his expertise from his position as Chief Resident Experience Officer at Tricon Residential where he leads the property management business, including leasing, maintenance, renovation, call center operations and customer service.

He manages a team of 750 professionals with a ~$16 billion portfolio of approximately 38,000 single family homes and 1,500 Class A high rise multifamily units where his operational team grew the recurring rental revenue from zero dollars to $850 million in twelve years. Additionally, he and his team internalized operations of 7,500 Multifamily units, increased the operating metrics and subsequently the portfolio was disposed for a substantial profit.

Alan is a thought leader in process improvement and efficiency through innovation and the employment of technology. He received his secondary and university education in Ireland and has a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering degree from the University of Limerick.

Prior to joining Tricon in 2014, he worked at a variety of boutique real estate investment companies and Ericsson in the telecommunications engineering field. Alan is Chair of the Operations Committee of the National Rental Home Council and a member of CoreLogic’s Client Council.

Marc Fiedler
Director, Acquisitions & Asset Management

Marc leads new acquisition opportunities for AXSYS Capital, including the sourcing, underwriting, and structuring of new investments. Marc is also responsible for the firm’s asset management strategy, including the leasing and long-term capital improvement objectives of the firm’s properties. He oversees a nationwide team of property managers and is tasked with driving operational and financial efficiencies across the firm’s growing portfolio.

With over 15 years of experience in the real estate industry, Marc has a wealth of expertise in acquisitions, underwriting, and asset management. Prior to joining AXSYS, Marc served as Director at Stage Equity Partners, where he led the acquisition of numerous healthcare, industrial and retail real estate assets. Prior to his tenure with Stage, Marc served on a top producing team at global real estate services firm Avison Young, where he represented numerous office tenants in lease transactions across Chicagoland. His background also includes roles at mortgage banking firm Dwinn-Shaffer & Company, and appraisal and advisory firm KTR Newmark Real Estate Services.

Marc holds an MBA in Real Estate Finance and Investment from DePaul University and a BSBA in Finance and Economics from Boston University. He is also an Illinois licensed Real Estate Managing Broker.
